# Backups & Disaster Recovery

Hercules apps offer automated database backups and self-serve restore at any time.

### How do I enable app backups?

See [Database Backups](/docs/apps/database#is-my-data-backed-up) for the full setup instructions.

### How long are backups kept?

| Schedule | Retention |
| - | - |
| Daily | 7 days |
| Weekly | 14 days |

Older backups expire automatically. Review recent runs in the **Backups** dialog.

### Can I export my data at any time?

Yes. See [Export Data](/docs/apps/export-data) for database exports.

### What disaster-recovery procedures does Hercules follow?

We maintain documented backup, business-continuity, and disaster-recovery procedures. Our plans include communications and continuity when key personnel are unavailable. Disaster-recovery and incident-response plans are tested at least annually.
