Donald Lee Service is a professional audio repair shop Kissimmee, Florida, right near Walt Disney World. Donnie Lee and his wife have been in the business for 50 years, repairing concert speakers, mixing boards, and guitar amps. They are a gold service center for Fender, QSC, Mesa Boogie, and Nord. They even fix gear for Disney World, Universal, Epcot, Legoland, and famous touring musicians. They are now one of only about four audio repair shops left in Central Florida.
Donnie has built a full business operating system on Hercules to run the shop. It started as a simple booking calendar and snowballed into accounting, online payments, purchase orders, warranty certificates, technician dispatch, and sales tax filing, over 1,100 revisions in all. It saves him at least 40 hours a week, lifted online bookings 25%, gets him paid in minutes instead of 90 days, and made his website ADA compliant. Donnie is not a software engineer and has never built anything like this.
Sometimes I get up at two in the morning, think of something, and go change it in my app. I started using Hrecules to build an appointment scheduling calendar and now it's just snowballed into a full accounting package.

Saving 50 hours a week by automating the back office
Before Hercules, Donnie spent ~10 hours a day on paperwork. Half his paperwork was booking appointments by phone and typing them into an Outlook calendar. The other half was managing his bookkeeping and invoicing. He wrote down credit card numbers by hand, built purchase orders one at a time, and printed warranty certificates manually. With just him and his wife running a business that turns over ~$500k a year, the admin work swallowed a lot of the time he needed for actual repairs.
Donnie rebuilt his entire back office as one app on Hercules and automated nearly all of it. Customers book themselves online, which drops straight onto his calendar. Estimates go out automatically with approve and decline buttons, jobs over $100 collect a deposit before he orders parts, and supplier purchase orders are automatically generated for him to forward. His app prints warranty certificates that spell out the 90-day terms, files Florida sales tax at the start of each month, and runs automated backups of his databases to Google Drive every Friday. He even created a technician dispatch module, where each tech signs into their own schedule on a tablet and billing flows back into the main system. All of it cut his daily admin from roughly eight hours down to about ninety minutes, quite literally saving him at least 50 hrs a week.
It's all automated. I don't have to sit here and write down credit card numbers and deal with this. It's cut my daily admin work down from 12 hours to maybe 1.5.

Increasing online bookings by 25% by letting customers book themselves
Donnie and his wife often missed calls or walk ins while they were out servicing customers on site. For years, anyone who called or walked in while they were away was simply lost business. Every booking required a phone call, a conversation, and a manual entry into Outlook. A single customer could tie Donnie up on the phone for half an hour before a single repair got scheduled.
Donnie rebuilt his website and SEO strategy on Hercules and has since increased his total bookings by 25% increase in online bookings. Customers book online without ever calling. Donnie doesn't even need to speak to them until the day they arrive. To drive traffic, Donnie leveraged Hercules SEO to rank the site number one across search engines for keywords like "Fender guitar amp service", which Hercules wrote and implemented for him.
It's amazing. I won't see or talk to customers now until the day they come in. They do a search for Fender guitars, find our site, and book the appointment.

Getting paid in minutes instead of 90 days
It used to take Donnie up to 90 days after service to get paid. Parks and production companies dragged invoices out for weeks. Touring customers would make orders well in advance but wouldn't pay until they picked up. His warehouse was often full of finished gear sitting unpaid.
Donnie built online payments into the app with Hercules Commerce. When a repair is done, the customer gets a text and email with a pay link. Most customers now click and pay on the spot. Thanks to online payments, his average time to receive payments has gone form 60-90 days to under 7.
As soon as I finished a repair, I sent an invoice to the manager and he paid us right there. I don't have to sit here and wait on my money.
Preventing a $10k ADA lawsuit by making the site accessible
A business owner down the street from Donnie was sued for $10,000 for having a website that was not American Disability Act (ADA) compliant. The story made the local news. For a two-person shop, a $10,000 judgment is serious money. Donnie's largest customers (like Disney) all required ADA compliance from their vendors. Donnie had to make his site compliant but wanted to avoid paying thousands of dollars to a developer to make it happen.
Donnie used Hercules Audits to make his website fully ADA 2.2 compliant in under a day. He no longer needs to worty whether his we will be exposed to a lawsuit: he now has an official certificate that shows his site passes all required accessibility tests.
A lady down the street got sued for $10,000 because her website wasn't ADA compliant. So I told Hercules I wanted the site ADA compliant. Now it passes all the tests. It just worked.
Why Hercules
Donnie tried four or five other AI software tools before Hercules, most of them advertised on Facebook. They were built for people who wanted to spin up a small Wix-style store, and they did not have the engine he needed. The moment he asked for more features, they would freeze up and lock, so he abandoned them. Hercules was the first tool that could actually build what he described and show it to him in real time, exactly the way he wanted it. It now handles his financials, record keeping, purchase orders, and payments, and he has not hit a wall yet.
The other tools I tried would start to freeze up when I gave them more features. This was the first one where I could give it what I wanted and watch it build exactly the way I wanted it.
What's next
Donnie adds new features to his app every day. He is now over 1,100 revisions in. His next move is to package the software and license it to other repair companies, sold and hosted right from his own site. More than the features, he says Hercules has rekindled the love of building software he thought he had lost.
It's rekindled something in me I'd lost. I can think of stuff now, write it, and it's done right away. It's amazing.
